Overview
Here’s what Active Man has to say:

Power Up your breakfast and your muscles with delicious and satisfying high protein, low fat Oatein. Ideal with semi- skimmed milk or soya milk, or as part of a smoothie
As the name suggest this is a blend of high quality oats and whey protein, which provides a great start to any day or a healthy snack, as each serving is packed with slow release energy and protein to maintain energy levels, keep hunger at bay and also refuel muscles.

You get an ok protein hit with 20g (although round about half that will be from the 300ml milk) and the carbs are high enough to keep you energised through until lunch. Unsurprisingly from a product called Oatein the carbs are predominately coming from Oats which are a clean source of Carbs.

Taste
It tastes like a porridge shake. That’s how best I can describe it, it certainly is peculiar but by no means unpleasant. It is very thick and a little “oaty”.

Side Effects
None

Price
£16.99 for a 400g tub with 10 servings in.

Results
Well this is strange. I can’t quite work this product out. It’s clearly designed as a breakfast but I found it much better blended into a postworkout shake with a scoop of Bio-Synergy’s Whey Better.

It’s not quite high enough in protein to be my breakfast by itself, I needed to have a shake along side it, which isn’t a problem but 20g (including your milk) is slightly on the low side. The carbs, fats and calories are good for anyone either maintaining or bulking but probably not great for anyone cutting up.

It tastes okay by itself but it was awesome in a smoothie style postworkout with a banana and a scoop of Bio-Synergy Cookies and Cream Whey Better. It’s not cheap at £1.70 per serving but it still cheaper than buying breakfast out every day.  If you are looking for a slightly different take on a breakfast classic then this will certainly be worth a look. 7/10
