Reflex Instant Whey Pro Review

Overview
Reflex Nutrition have this to say:

INSTANT WHEY™, our market leading whey protein has now been improved to provide an ever more advanced formulation that is simply unbeaten in the market. It is now called INSTANT WHEY™ PRO in recognition of the four friendly bacteria that have been included which deliver a total of 2 billion friendly bacteria per 100g of product and includes; Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bacillus coagulans and Lactobacillus rhamnosus. These friendly bacteria have distinct and unique characteristics.

Instant Whey™ PRO continues to deliver additional high quality glutamine peptides, whey peptides in combination with a 25% increase in Digezyme® Enzyme complex which provides Protease, Amylase, Lipase and Lactase enzymes.

The main ingredients in INSTANT WHEY™ PRO are whey isolates which are 90% protein. Some brands include these, but currently none use native whey isolate as a main ingredient; this is the ultimate A+ grade whey protein that is extracted directly from fresh skimmed milk at low temperature using ultra and cross-flow microfiltration resulting in a product that contains up to 166% more bioavailable cystine and 16% more leucine in comparison to other forms of whey. INSTANT WHEY™ PRO also includes the new improved super CFM whey protein isolate, hydrolysed whey proteins and pure undenatured whey protein concentrate - all European sourced and guaranteed to be completely free from rBST, antibiotics and other unwanted impurities.

The protein per servings is on the low side with only 20g’s but everything else looks good. There is 1g of sugar and I normally like to see that a little bit lower but its not excessive. The Fat’s and Carb’s have been kept very low as well which is to Instant Whey Pro’s advantage as it makes it a much more versatile protein.

Taste
I reviewed the Raspberry Delight flavour and it was very nice but you have to leave it to stand for a minute or two as it was slightly frothy when you mix it up. The consistency was perfect every time not too thick or too thin. I had several double servings to increase my protein intake and it didn’t change the taste or consistency at all.

Side Effects
None

Price
£39.99 for 900g which provides 36 servings so it is rather pricey.

Results
You really can’t fault the taste and texture of Reflex Instant Whey Pro. It is easily one of the nicest protein shakes I’ve ever used. I had no mixing problems and when a double serving was used it mixed up just as easily and still had a great consistency. The protein content per serving is on the low side I normally like to see it between 25g and 30g but the Carb, Sugar and Fat content is very good for a Whey protein. Instant Whey Pro is a very versatile shake it would fit perfectly into any diet plan, if you’re bulking it’ll help you get the extra protein in and if you are on a strict calorie controlled cutting phase then it’s only 97cal and that 20g of protein will help preserve your muscle mass.

The only real down side is the price, it is rather expensive but I would think that you’d be able to find it on offer easily enough. Instant Whey Pro is an excellent, if slightly expensive, protein shake and it’s no wonder that Reflex Nutrition are one of the top names in the supplement business if they can produce products of this quality. 8/10
